February 13 Draft: Duluth/Superior - Winter Bike Week edition

DRAFT: Duluth/Superior is part of a nationwide meetup series that gathers people who love bikes, biz and beer (or another drink of your choice). Join us for this fast-paced hour of ideas, entrepreneurs and bikes on Thursday, February 13, as a part of Winter Bike Week.

The Duluth/Superior meetups bring our community together to celebrate the latest in biking and bike industry innovations. We also feature community members who speak about biking and bike-related activities. The audience is invited to make announcements and start conversations -- everyone from business leaders, product developers, tech innovators, advocates, and artists alike.

We'll begin to gather at 5:30 p.m. with featured speakers beginning at 6 p.m.

Speaker Line-up (so far):

1. Kris T. Liljeblad, AICP, PTP, Sr. Transportation Planner for the City of Duluth, will talk about progress for biking and his approach to implement the planned bike network in parts of Duluth's metro area.

2. Ruurd Schoolderman, Duluth Bikes board member, will talk about bike-packing across Iceland and other local adventures.

3. Amy Westbrook, Public Health Division Director for St. Louis county, will speak about active transportation as a way to promote healthy communities.

Zeitgeist Community's Winter Bike Week encourages and celebrates winter biking in all its forms, whether for fun and recreation, or transportation and commuting. Working with partner organizations in the Duluth area, Winter Bike Week will host community events, educational workshops, and family-friendly bike rides to demonstrate that winter biking is fun, practical, and accessible to most people in our community. We hope to encourage everyone to embrace the beauty of winter by offering just one more way to enjoy it - by bike! Visit zeitgeistarts.com/community/winter-bike-week-events/ for full event listing. Winter Bike Week is made possible by the generous support of Continental Ski & Bike and AAA Minnesota-Iowa, with additional support from Spokengear and Aerostich
