Grab a mug of coffee or maybe a glass of beer and learn about the St. Louis River at the same time. Scientists and agency staff who work on the St. Louis River Estuary will share their thoughts and information about river projects the last Tuesday of each month. But the evening presentations won't be a one-way street. You will get to ask questions and share your thoughts, too. All are welcome, including high school students, teachers, environmental and science group members, decision-makers, and even people who just happen to be in the restaurant. The River Talks is a cooperative project between the Lake Superior National Estuarine Research Reserve and the Wisconsin Sea Grant Institute.
February 11, 2014 (rescheduled from January 28) 2013 Gene Clark with Wisconsin Sea Grant will delve into the issue of dredging in the estuary.
February 25, 2014 Emily Graham from the University of Colorado in Boulder will discuss how microscopic critters and mercury impact the health of the estuary.
March 25, 2014 Thomas Howes with the Fond du Lac Band of Lake Superior Chippewa will discuss wild rice management, research and restoration.
April 29, 2014 John Lindgren with the MN Department of Natural Resources and Paul Piszczek with the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources will talk about sport fishing in the St. Louis River.
May 27, 2014 Trivia Night. Staff from Sea Grant and the Lake Superior NERR will quiz audience members about facts learned throughout the series. Door prizes to those who answer the questions correctly!

From 3-time WWE champion to 2-time New York Times #1 best-selling author to his present incarnation as stand-up comic/spoken-word performer, Foley's nationwide tour, Tales from Wresting Past, showcases his unique style of surreal story-telling and his trademark blend of wildness and warmth that promises to take both wrestling and comedy fans on a memorable and entertaining ride. If you're interested at all in wrestling, you will love it; if you're not, you will like it! Mick Foley earned the nickname "The Hardcore Legend" for his ability to absorb seemingly inhuman punishment in some of the most dramatic matches in sports-entertainment history. Twin Ports Brewfest and Jade Presents are proud to bring Warm Up To The Brews to Clyde Iron Works. The brewfest will begin at 7 p.m. featuring Carmody Irish Brew Pub, Lake Superior Brewing, Bent Paddle Brewing Co., Fitger's Brewhouse, Goose Island and Lucid Brewing. Music will commence at 9:30 p.m. featuring BB Gun, 4onthefloor, and Dave Simonett.
The 4onthefloor deliver stompin' blues at an alarming intensity. 4onthefloor was born in the bottom of a bourbon bottle with the idea that itu2019s effing time to have some fun and make amazing music as well. Audiences immediately took to the infectious driving feel of not one, but four bass drums pulsing to the beat of the songs. The music is inspired by the gutsy stomp of the Delta Blues and the hoe-downs from Americau2019s past and present, all in 4/4 time.
Dave Simonett sings, plays guitar and writes songs for Trampled by Turtles. He's going out solo this October for an intimate West Coast tour.
